A Bongaree man says the future of his children is his top priority after winning more than $2.8 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Bribie Island resident held one of the seven division one Gold Lotto winning entries. Each division one winning entry scored $2,857,142.86.
“Woah, woah! This is absolutely amazing!” the man said when an official from The Lott called to confirm his windfall.
“I’ve been using these numbers for almost three decades. They’re just so special to me for so many reasons.
“I’m also sure someone must be watching over me from above.
“I’ll be straight into the renovations at my home! Thankfully, I’ll be able to pay someone to do them now, and I won’t have to.
“First phone call is to my children. They’ll be stoked to know some of it is coming their way and they can set themselves up for the future.
“Thank you so much!”
The winning man’s marked System 7 entry was bought on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4451 on March 16, 2024 were 44, 40, 35, 17, 28 and 3, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 33.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries – three in New South Wales, two in Victoria, and one each in Queensland and South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 310 in FY24, including 72 won by Golden Casket customers. In 2023, Saturday Gold Lotto created 176 millionaires.
During this time, there were 303 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $436 million.
There are more chances to win big with tomorrow’s Oz Lotto offering $20 million, while Thursday’s Powerball has $4 million up for grabs.
