Businesses relocate for new development

Three popular local businesses have moved to make way for a new development at Redcliffe at the corner of Anzac Ave and Sutton St.

The Bone Yard Collective, Pinot and Picasso Redcliffe and The Book Bucket Redcliffe have found new locations on the Peninsula, ensuring they are up and running for the busy festive season.

The Bone Yard Collective team of Ruby Rule, Becky Stone, Lee Stone and Curtis Ritt are planning to reopen on December 6 at 26 Baynes St, Margate.

While the new venue is much smaller, it has airconditioning and is positioned in the hustle and bustle of Margate’s business heart.

“We are hoping to bring the Bone Yard Collective vibe around here to Margate,” Ruby says.

They will still be serving amazing coffee with a broad selection of records for music lovers to buy, including new stock.

Bone Yard Collective will be open seven days a week, with coffee available from 6am-2pm. The record shop will be open seven days a week from 9am-4pm.

Exciting new chapter

Pinot and Picasso Redcliffe has also moved to Margate, opening at 326 Oxley Ave on November 29. The popular paint and sip studio is at the corner of Bank St, opposite The Ox.

Co-owners Debbie Lennon and Katrina Humphries say it’s business as usual, with peak function season in full swing in the lead-up to Christmas.

The new location is bigger, with easier access and parking.

“We still have the private function room and main studio as well,” Katrina says.

“Nothing will be the same as our beloved first place, but it’s the beginning of new and exciting times for us.”

The move has enabled them to embrace Pinot and Picasso’s new branding, which they had delayed because they didn’t know when they would have to move out of the Redcliffe building.

Katrina wants customers to know the studio has not closed and is now in a new and exciting space ‘just down the road’.

“Margate is the place to be,” she says.

Pinot and Picasso is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for public bookings and seven days a week for private functions.

Former neighbour, The Book Bucket Redcliffe, has moved to 140 Sutton St and reopened on December 1. The popular book exchange is open seven days a week from 8.30am-4.30pm.
