A popular paint and sip venue at Redcliffe has launched a swag of classes to keep school holiday boredom at bay, as well as new neon sessions for adults.

Pinot & Picasso business partners Katrina Humphries and Debbie Lennon say the arty parties are also the perfect way for families to connect.

“We introduced paint and play sessions about two years ago,” Debbie says.

“They go for about two hours and you get to create a painting as well as do a craft.

“So if you’re painting a jellyfish, you’ll also make a jellyfish terrarium to take home.”

Themes for the holiday sessions include sea turtles, unicorns, sloths and butterflies.

Festive fun

Katrina says an array of festive season art is also available, with many people making a visit to Pinot & Picasso an annual tradition.

“We have Sloshy the Snowman, gingerbread people in normal and neon paint, Rudolph and even an Elf on the Shelf with a topless waiter session,” she says.

Most sessions are 18+, but for family friendly school holiday sessions all the artists have Blue Cards and parents are welcome to drop kids off and head to a nearby café or bar or explore the area.

“But we always offer the parents the option to paint and stay at kids’ prices - it’s a nice family thing to do,” Katrina says.

“Deb and I have 15 years’ experience working with kids - we used to run the children’s pamper party venue the Petite Princess Parlour at North Lakes.”

Neon nights

Pinot & Picasso has recently introduced neon R & B nights where guests can paint iconic musicians such as Beyonce and Snoop Dog.

“Half the session is under regular lights and half is under neon light to bring the artwork to life,” Debbie explains.

“We have a whole heap of neon art works but the newest concepts are like a disco party.”

The perfect gift

Katrina says gift vouchers are a great way to treat family and friends to a unique experience.

“Lots of people buy them so they can go along too – it’s about giving presence, not presents,” she laughs.

Children’s workshops are $39 for a paint-only session, which runs for about 90 minutes, or $49 for canvas and craft, which lasts two hours and includes a snack and a drink.

Pinot & Picasso is at Shop 3/13 Redcliffe Pde, Redcliffe.
