The Moreton Bay Arts Council (MBAC) is hosting a special month-long exhibition to celebrate its 20-year anniversary.

MBAC first commenced as the Redcliffe and District Arts Council in April 2003, and transformed into what it is today in 2009.

Moreton Bay Arts Council President Janice Charlish says the aim of MBAC is to connect the dots between all kinds of creatives in the community.

“MBAC connects the dots between creative makers, thinkers, places, supporters, audiences and key stakeholders through advocacy, learning, networking and partnerships,” Janice says.

“We work with the arts and cultural community promoting the value of creative enterprise and artistic expression as drivers of innovation, business, culture, and regional identity.”

The Dare to Be Different exhibition officially opened on January 13 at the Old Redcliffe Fire Station but is open every day until February 4.

The exhibition open day saw more than 70 people attend.

Locals can expect a wide range of artwork for sale from local Redcliffe potters, MBAC members and local painters.

There is also memorabilia on display, including Counterpoint Vocal Ensemble, ‘Between the Tides’ by Carte Blanche, Samford Art & Studio Trail and short stories by author Richard Lancaster.
