Three new university buildings will open for the first time this week at UniSC Moreton Bay’s Petrie campus.
Doors will first open for Orientation on Thursday - welcoming many of UniSC Moreton Bay's 1333 new students - before Semester One classes get under way six days later.
The new buildings are opposite the university’s large foundation centre, which opened in 2020, and add another 12,500sqm of floor space to the existing 16,000sqm.

Stage two of UniSC’s site development includes additional teaching and learning spaces, research laboratories, an industry hub and event space.
There is will also be a student gym and sports hall, sports science facility, student hub and breakout spaces, outdoor spaces and amenities as well as multi-level parking.
Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Helen Bartlett said campus growth had exceeded expectations at UniSC Moreton Bay since it opened.
“These new buildings will provide students with more areas to study, collaborate and socialise,” Professor Bartlett said.
She said the campus was closely aligned with the City of Moreton Bay plans for rapid growth, prosperity and a projected population increase to 700,000 in 20 years.
“UniSC is playing an integral role ensuring we have graduates aligned with growth industries in Moreton Bay and beyond, and that we are connecting our researchers with the community to meet local and global challenges,” Professor Bartlett said.
UniSC’s most in-demand undergraduate courses for 2024 are Bachelor of Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Primary Education, Business, Paramedicine and Clinical Exercise Science.
There has also been a 13 percent increase in enrolments to engineering courses.
UniSC Moreton Bay currently has more than 4700 students studying close to 90 programs on campus. This is expected to grow to 10,000 students by 2035.
