Premier Steven Miles has announced a $2 million grant to improve and upgrade the Redcliffe PCYC facility.

The funding will allow for improved accessibility through new and upgraded seating, ventilation improvements, air-conditioning and a modified facility layout.

Mayor Peter Flannery says the funding is vital to continue supporting the youth in Redcliffe.

“Important upgrades to this busy community hub will increase accessibility and ensure new and refurbished facilities cater for increased demand,” Mayor Flannery says.

“With one of the largest memberships in Queensland, offering everything from martial arts and gymnastics to crime prevention programs, Redcliffe PCYC provides vital support for our young people, which is why this additional funding is so appreciated.”

According to Mr Miles, the upgrades are also expected to encourage more young people to get involved in the community.

“Through a $2 million grant the facility will get a much-needed refurbishment, adding to the experience of locals of all ages,” he says.

“When complete, we expect even more of Moreton Bay’s young people will get involved in these important community services.”
