Unique spin on new Redcliffe art gallery

A new art gallery and coffee house has opened in Redcliffe, transforming an old, run-down space into an art lover’s haven.

Combing coffee and art, The Loft Art Gallery owners Dagmar and Jason Maini have created a comfortable and cosy space for art lovers to rejoice with a cup of coffee or tea in hand.

While hunting for a café to display Dagmar’s art in, the pair found the perfect location within the bustling Sutton Street.

“(The space) had so much charm and our ideas started flowing the moment we walked through the door for the first time,” Dagmar and Jason say.

Since opening in October 2023, Redcliffe locals have welcomed the art gallery with open arms.

“We’ve received numerous comments on the atmosphere we have created and positive feedback on our ‘killer’ coffee,” Dagmar and Jason say.

“Our coffee is roasted by a local company called Three Elements and we offer a variety of different blends. We serve 13 different kinds of tea as well.

“We also offer different kinds of European cakes and savouries, and we will be offering a variety of bagels soon."

Having lived on the peninsula for nearly 10 years, Dagmar and Jason say they love the diversity of Redcliffe, especially when it comes to the art community.

“We live on the peninsula and have called it home for nearly 10 years! It’s such a beautiful and diverse place with a huge art community,” Dagmar and Jason say.

“People can expect a diverse range of art in our gallery, including modern art, concept art and unique creations.

“We aim to showcase talented artists who might not have an extensive resume but deserve a chance to exhibit and share their art with our community and beyond.”

The Loft Gallery will run art exhibitions and workshops, with their first workshop being sold out in only two days.

“I would love for The Loft to become a vibrant space where ideas flow, collaborations flourish, and diverse perspectives enrich the experience.”

The Loft Art Gallery and Coffee House is at 136 Sutton St, Redcliffe (behind the Salvos store).
